by Miuzki Hi!! My name is Mizuki. I’m from Akashi in Hyogo. There are 5 people in my family, my father,

mother, 2 older brothers, and me. My father is quiet and hardworking. My mother is talkative and kind. My brothers are nice and friendly. And I am quiet but I think I am adventurous.  I have 13 first cousins. My family gets along well with them, so we have been to many places before. One of them was a short trip to Wakayama. There were 23 in the group. We rent a bus and went to Wakayama on two days one night for my grandfather as a 60th birthday present. We visited whale museum and watched whales. Also, we touched and feed them. They were cute and it was exciting. That was a good experience for me and everyone. In my free time, I watch dramas and listen to music to study languages and cultures. Since I was a child, I want to visit many countries. I have visited Singapore before. It was my first trip abroad. In Singapore, there were many kinds of people, Chinese, Indian, Arabian and others.  It was interesting for me. To studying languages are fun for me. When I graduate from university, I want to visit many countries and experience many interesting things. Also, I want to live in another country someday, so I think I have to study hard more and more.

     Hi! My name is Hikari. I was born in Kobe, Hyogo 19 years ago. I go to school at Mukogawa Woman’s University. In my free time, I often listen to music and watch concert DVD and watch YouTube and watch movie. My favorite artist is “GENERATIONS” and “FANTASTICS”, so I often watch their concert DVD.

     I have five members in my family: father, mother, two older sister and grandmother. My father is a deliveryman. He has been working as a deliveryman more than thirty years. My mother is a caregiving in nursing home. One of my older sisters is 27 years old. She lives outside of my home. She lives in Osaka with her boyfriend. She is a kindergarten teacher. The other older sisters is 25 years old. She works as a hairstylist. So, I always have cut and dye my hair for free! It is very grateful. My grandmother is 94 years old. I want her to live a long life.

     I don’t have my dream yet… But I think I would like to live outside of Japan and work there when I am able to speak English better!

Hello, my name is Yuzuna.  I live in Akashi, Hyogo with my family.  There are four people in my family.  My father works as an architect for the company which build houses.  He likes driving, so he takes us to the places where we want to go by car.  Also, he likes eating and cooking.  On his holiday, he cooks okonomiyaki, gyoza dumpling, and so on for us.  My mother is very kind.  She encourages me whenever I’m feeling depressed, so I like her very much.  We often go shopping together.  My brother is a last year student at Kinki University and studies architecture.  He has finished his graduation thesis, so he is going to start working in April.  He will work at Fukuoka, which is quite far from Hyogo, so he won’t be in my house when I came to Japan.  In my free time, I like going to shopping, swimming, running, or talking with my friends.  In the future, I want to work in Japan using English, so I would like to have a job relating to sightseeing.  Finally, I want to learn a lot about American culture, enjoy talking with American people, and get high score at TOEIC test, so I intend to study hard and have a lot of fun in Spokane.

My name is Sesera Ieda and 18years old. I live in Nara. Nara is famous for deer and “Todaiji” of temple. I have a five family, my mother, father, and two brothers. My two brothers are six and nine years apart from me. Both brothers and father are working out side of Nara. So, I live with only my mother.
My hobby is classic ballet. I have been learning it for 13 years. But, I haven’t learned it now, so my body is not soft. Also, I like listening to Japanese music and watching movies. There are 5 people in my family, my father, my mother, my older brother, my older sister, and me.  My brother is nine years older than I.  And my older sister is seven older than I.  My siblings are really close, for example, we go to a theater together!  I like my family.

My hobby is watching TV and drawing pictures.  In particular, I like Japanese drama and comedy.  I had seen to a comedy duo with my sister several times.  Someday I want to go to the M-1 Grand Prix which is the most famous comedy tournament in Japan.

I still can’t get used to American lifestyle now but I’m sure that it’s very exciting time for me!  I miss my family, my friends in Japan, but I’ll try my best!

 I have an older sister. She is 5 years older than me. Her name is Natsuki, and she came here about 5 years ago. She was Mukogawa women’s university’s student. I have a pet. He is a dog. His name is Mint. He is 11 years old.

 I like listening to music and dancing. I like Japanese music. I was in high school, I was in dance club. I danced hip-hop. It is very exciting and fun!

 I’m from Hyogo in Japan. Japan has many good places, so I love Japan. For example, Yokohama, Kobe, Tokyo… and so on. I have already been to Yokohama and I live in Kobe, so I want to go to Hokkaido. If I went to there, I want to eat many sea foods!

 I want to work at the airport in the future.  Because I like planes, airports and airport employee uniforms.  Especially I like Asiana Airlines uniforms.  Because it is very cute and stylish.  I want to communicating many foreing people.  So I need English skills.  I want to study English hard for that.  I’m looking forword to studying English in America.

Hi! My name is Akane Oshima and I'm 19 years old. I live in Himeji, Japan. It's famous for Himeji castle and it's World Heritage. I live in near it. Many tourists visit there every day.


There are four people in my family. My father, my mother and an older brother. We are taller than normal Japanese family and, we like sports. My father, my mother and I are play tennis and I have played it for 11 years. My brother plays soccer and teaches it for children. Also, we have been skiing every winter. I have been thought it by my parents since I was 3 years old. It's very fun and exciting for me.

 I like watching movie in my free time. I like romance movies. For example, Titanic, Twilight and Romeo and Juliet.  I watched these many times. I like foreign romance movies more than Japanese that, because the former look romantic more than the latter. Also, I often listen to music. I like J-pop and western music. My favorite song is Just Like Fire by pink now. I listen to this song almost every day.


 My dream has not been decided yet, but I want to be useful person for someone. Also, I want to work with English, such as flight attendant, grand staff, and teacher. My goal is to improve my English and being involved with many people to spread my field of view. I 'll do my best.

Hi, my name is Akari. I'm 19 years old, and I’m major in English at my school. I'm from Kobe, Japan.  Kobe is famous for bread, sweets, fashion brand, and there are a lot of sharp slopes! Also, there are china town, harbor, beautiful sea and mountain. 

In my free time, I like playing the guitar, listening music, taking photos, such as flower, sky, scenery and so on. I like Taylor Swift very much, so I often practice her songs with guitar. My favorite kind of music is J-pop, jazz and western music. 

There are four people in my family. My father is architect, so he is very busy every day and I can’t meet him only on Sunday. My father is so kind and always helps me when I’m in trouble. And also, he likes cooking, for example, cakes, cookies and Japanese foods. They are so delicious! I love it. My mother is very neat. So she often scold me when I eat sweets with sitting on carpet. But, thanks to my mother, our house is always kept clean. My mother also like taking pictures too! So, we often go out to take pictures. My sister is high school student and 16 years old. She likes J-pop, and she is a big fan of ‘Mrs. GREEN APPLE’. Their songs are nice! We like to travel, so we often go out in holidays. 

   

I have not decided my dream yet, but I would like to work with using English, and take photos all over the world. So, I want to be able to speak English much better. I'll do my best for my future.

The first time I watched the movie with my sister, I was very excited. I watched all series of the movie.I also like to travel abroad. I have been to China,Taiwan,Korea and Singapore. I went to Singapore on my school trip when I was high school student. I saw a Merlion and took a cruise around Marina Bay Sands. It was great trip ! Now I want to trip Europe and visit art museums.

 I am studying English and Chinese in MWU. My father is Chinese. I am mixed. I am half Japan and China. So, I have studied Chinese since I was a child. I want to use English and Chinese at working place in the future. I have a sister. My sister is 21 years old. Now, she go to University and she is nursing student. She want to be nurse in the future.  I was really looking forward to going to the US. So, now I am very excited. I don’t feel homesick. I want to go downtown in Seattle early. Next Tuesday we will go to there. I’m looking forward to go there very much. So, now I want to prove writing and speaking skills. I should study English hard and I want to talk a lot to teacher and RA .I'm going to do my best !

Introduce Myself

Hello! My name is Maiya. I’ll introduce myself.  I’m 19 years old.  I was born on May 31^st, 2000, in Miyazaki, Japan.  Miyazaki is in Kyu-syu, so very far from MWU.  I’was living alone in Nishinomiya-shi.  I have 5 families, and my father, mother, younger brother, younger sister, and me.  And we have 3 cats!  They are so pretty and have each character.

In my free time, I usually sleep, go shopping, and watch videos.  Especially, I like learning about fashion, and love clothes.  Also, I love Michael Jackson, so I often enjoy watching his music video.  By the way, my favorite is live video of "They Don’t Care About Us".  His dance is of course, song, dress, and atmosphere also are very cool!!I was a volunteer, and I was teaching France to Japanese.  There are many countries people who are Peruvian, Russian, Brazilians, French, and et cetera.  I became interested in languages other than culture.  So, my dream has not been decided yet, but I want to work in English and make many friends who has various culture, language, and background.   Thank you for reading!

Introducing Bridget

Hi! My name is Bridget and I thought I should tell you a bit about myself.  Here goes…

I was born in Spokane, Washington a LONG time ago 😉! I have a really, really big extended family. I have 54 first cousins! Can you believe it? In my free time, I like to read and garden and make things and travel! 

I graduated from Gonzaga University with a B.A. in French Literature. I also have two M.A.s -- one in International Politics and one in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I have lived and traveled in many different countries including Ireland, England, France, Spain, Uganda, Ecuador, and Japan. I have been teaching English for more than 30 years! Wow! My first English teaching job was in Kumamoto, Japan, and later I taught at MWU for two years. I loved it there!

My husband, James, is also an English teacher. He teaches at Gonzaga University. He’s a musician, too! He plays flutes and whistles and uilleann pipes for a band called Floating Crowbar. He is British, but he sounds really American now.

We have three great kids and all of them live outside of the United States right now: Ceilan (pronounced ‘keelin’) works in the library at the University of Leeds in England; Zeke is a software developer and lives in London; and Fionn (pronounced ‘fin’) works at Refugee Community Kitchen in Calais, France, where he cooks meals for refugees who are running away from danger in their home countries. 

I am really looking forward to a great semester at Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute!
